• Cover it. One of the most recommended notebook computer care tips is getting a case specially designed for it. It's not advisable to carry your notebook unprotected. Since it's portable, a notebook is more prone to scratches and bumps and wear and tear compared to the stationary desktop computer. Appropriate casing could function as padding especially when the notebook is accidental dropped.
• Protect it. Electrical surges can cause sometimes irreparable damage to your notebook; thus it's recommended that you use a surge protector. When there's storm, refrain from using the Internet and unplug the cable modem.

Keep your notebook in a dry place. Avoid leaving your notebook in a cold environment. If has been in the cold place, let it warm up first before turning it on. The change in the temperature from cold to warm could bring about condensation that could damage the circuitry of your notebook.

When working on your notebook, put away food and drink. Accidental spilling of drinks on your notebook can cause the risk of electric shock. Food crumbs could accumulate on the keyboard of your notebook and would require intensive cleaning.

Install an anti-virus software in your notebook. Viruses from the Internet or internal viruses could cause permanent and irreparable damage to your notebook.

  The notebook part that needs regular clean up is the keyboard. Use a small vacuum cleaner to remove dust, lint, or any particles underneath the keys. Avoid spraying disinfectant or any cleaning liquid on the keyboard. Some cleaning liquid contain chemicals that may permanently damage your notebook.
